Bikes are checked out at the beginning of each quarter
How to apply:
Write a 500-700 word essay which answers the following questions:
1. Why you NEED a bike
2. What will you use the bike for?
3. How will you contribute to the bike community?
Send your essay to our email, scbikelibrary@gmail.com by the end of the second week of the quarter, or an announced specific date (Spring 2013 deadline: April 5th @ 11:59pm). Your essay will be reviewed, and chosen applicants will be notified within a week.
If all the bikes are not lent out by the deadline, then please feel free to submit an essay after April 5th. We will keep the application period open until all bikes are rented out. Nevertheless, please submit an application before the deadline for your best chance at receiving a bike, as our fleet IS limited and as such has limited sizing. We will not give out bikes that are sized incorrectly for each rider, for safety purposes.
If you get approved for a bike, you MUST RSVP and attend a TAPS sponsored Bicycle Street Skills class. Dates, locations, and times of the 2 available classes this quarter are:
4/14 Sunday @ 11:00am-1:00pm
4/21 Sunday @ 11:00am-1:00pm
